CABLE RINGS & SADDLES
Power Cables Rings & Saddles for Aerial Distribution of Wire & Cable for Power Utility . Traffic Signal / Industrial / Solar / Telecommunications / Cable Television and Pipeline Applications
- Power Manufacturing’s Cable Rings and Saddles deliver superior cost savings for overhead electrical distribution cable installations compared to expensive cable burial methods or cable tray applications. The materials costs of this product coupled with the added reduction of installation labor costs, are a winning combination for any end user. Power Cable Ring and Saddle Messenger applications offer a sustainable, long-term plant life, that allows easy access for additional cabling, troubleshooting or routine maintenance tasks.
- Power Cable Rings and Saddles provide a safe, mechanically sound method for areial distribution for support of all types of electrical, control and communication cables, as well as mechanical piping, tubing or hose. This method of cable installation with messenger supported cable rings & saddles, offers a high quality cabling system for a fraction of the cost of cable tray with proven reliability. Based on the application environment and your choice of materials alloys, the cable ring & saddle system by far out performs cable ties, lashing rods or lashing wire, specially in corrosive salt fog or caustic industrial chemical environments.
- Power Cable Rings offer quick and easy installation on the job site. Rings install virtually in seconds and the design provides a forceful mechanical lock of the Ring to the messenger wire. This allows cables to be pulled long distances quickly and easily. Adding the wide load bearing area of Power Saddles provides additional cable support and provides mechanical protection of the cable insulation that can be adversely affected utilizing strictly a Ring. The minimal support area of just a Cable Ring can over time, degradate the cable insulation through the mechanical working of the steel against the insulation by means of wind loading and harmonic vibration. The use Power Cable Rings and Saddles offers a multitude of diameter and length combinations that can provide plenty of capacity for future larger capacity power cables, cable bundles or adding a communications cable on a common pole or structure.
Power Cable Rings and Saddles offer superior Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion Resistance Material Choices, Power Cable Rings and Saddles are manufactured from pre-galvanized 1075 Carbon Steel, Type 316 Stainless Steel, UNS-C26000 Naval Brass, CDA-655 Silicon Bronze and CDA-649 Silicon Tin Bronze Alloys in cold rolled flat wire form. This high tensile material provides a smooth flat surface for the support of cables and the rounded edges provide for the protection of the cable insulation. The advanced roll formed design of the wire, combined with the high tensile spring temper of the wire, is the main ingredient in providing a positive, secure lock of the cable ring to the messenger wire.
Power PVC Coated Cable Rings & Saddles provide maximum protection for cables. Power’s PVC Plastisol coating is a high dielectric grade, flame retardant, high UV stabilized abrasion resistant material. Rings are coated with a heavy 80 to 95 mil PVC coating thickness that provides dielectric protection strength of 400 volts per mil. Power’s Plastisol PVC Coating ultimately offers durability, superior dielectric protection and supplies additional corrosion resistance of the metal.
Power’s PVC Plastisol coating eliminates slippage, walking or movement of Cable Rings on the Messenger Cable after installation. Eliminating the walking or movement of the Rings on the messenger by wind loading and harmonic vibration is often considered critical to the application by design engineers. The PVC coating actually provides a molding of the PVC material to the individual strands of the messenger cable within the area of attachment, thus securing the Cable Ring to the messenger. This advanced gripping action ensures uniform spacing of the Rings, providing a safe, extended plant life, maintenance free cable support system.
Power Cable Rings & Saddles provide many Diameter and Length Combinations for safe, strong, and cost effective support for all types of electrical and control.
PWRMFG Cable Rings are manufactured in standard, medium and long styles in (10) different Diameters. Pictured above are Power’s Standard Length and Long Style Cable Rings and Saddles. Long Style Cable Rings have extra length under strand for running several cables or bundles of cables independently from the same messenger wire. The use Power Cable Rings and Saddles offers a multitude of diameter and length combinations that can provide additional space for future larger capacity power cables, cable bundles or the adding of a communications cable on a common pole or structure.
Power Spacing Guide
- Rings 1-‐1/2” through 2-‐1/2” (38mm – 64mm) space apart 15” to 20” (381mm – 508mm
- Rings 3” through 6” (76mm – 152mm) space apart 12” to 15” (305mm – 381mm)
- Exact spacing depends on type of cable, nature of installation and loading requirements.

Power Cable Ring Saddles
- Power Saddles offer a 1inch (25mm) wide load bearing area for extra support and protection of cable. This is especially critical when deploying heavy multiple-conductor armored cables or multiple cables.
- Power Saddles install quickly and easily on any size Cable Ring, providing durable cable protection and support.
- Power Saddles feature an integral secure locking system for attachment of the Saddle to the Cable Ring.
